PhD thesis: “Assessment of Pain and the Effectiveness of Its Management in Oncohematological Patients.”
My name is Nikolay, I am 63 years old, living in Vsevolozhsk, Leningrad region.
In 2019, I was diagnosed with Stage 1 papillary urothelial carcinoma of the bladder. Since then, I have undergone treatment in various medical institutions in Saint Petersburg and the region. All the doctors I consulted recommended surgical removal of the bladder and prostate, followed by disability.
During this period, I frequently used the services of the Helix laboratory, where Dr. Svetlana Aleksandrovna Kalyadina worked. In April 2024, during an ultrasound examination, she advised me to get an additional opinion at the Pirogov High Medical Technologies Clinic. She insisted on hearing from other specialists, as she believed that surgery was the most justified treatment option in my case.
I followed her recommendation, and later that summer the clinic performed a TUR procedure to remove the tumor while preserving my bladder. I now feel well and continue supportive therapy.
I am very grateful to Svetlana Aleksandrovna for her excellent medical expertise, her sensitivity, and her attentive attitude. She is a doctor who cares not only about a patient’s suffering, but about their life itself. I wish there were more doctors like her — many people truly need both understanding and treatment.
